References to Standards and Governing Documents (ISO/MIL)

Our reference for Generic Systems LifeCycle Management (SLCM) Services during procurement and provisioning of products and systems, follows the structured layout of ISO/IEC-15288 as needed (The ISO/IEC-15288 is a Systems engineering standard covering processes and lifecycle stages), which have been our general guidance in procurement/production projects, and in any future project we decide to take on.

The Systems LifeCycle Management (SLCM) processes applied, covers all major aspects from the needs/requirements assessment, design, over production, testing, verification & validation to the final training, implementation, handover to the user and environmentally friendly decommissioning. ISO/IEC-15288 represents a solid framework with a straight forward and standardized process definition. Depending on project size and expected outcome, we select the relevant parts required to fulfil the requirements. This saves time and money for our clients.

The ISO/IEC-15288 Systems Lifecycle Management Processes therefore fits a multitude of Industries, customer segments and projects — small, medium or large.

The disciplines applied are similar for many industries and serve well as a platform to start new projects from.

For smaller projects, a fully adopted ISO/IEC-15288, will in most cases not be necessary nor required to achieve expected results, and we therefore prefer to use the standard as guidance, where processes and sub-processes need to be considered and decided upon, depending on type of project and quality requirements.

Standards provide people and organizations with a basis for mutual understanding, and are used as tools to facilitate communication, measurement, commerce and manufacturing.

Standards are everywhere and play an important role in the economy, by:

– facilitating business interaction
– enabling companies to comply with relevant laws and regulations
– speeding up the introduction of innovative products to market
– providing interoperability between new and existing products, services and processes.

Standards form the basis for the introduction of new technologies and innovations, and ensure that products, components and services supplied by different companies will be mutually compatible.

Standards also disseminate knowledge in industries where products and processes supplied by various providers must interact with one another. Standardization is a voluntary cooperation among industry, consumers, public authorities, researchers and other interested parties for the development of technical specifications based on consensus.

Standardization can be identified as one of the innovation-support measures by bridging the gap between research and the market, and helping the fast and easy transfer of research results to the European and international market. The research community acknowledges this and project coordinators who included standards in their previous projects are willing to address standardization again.

The Generic Systems LifeCycle Management (SLCM) Services constitute a managed rock-solid foundation and platform of services, on which we build our future business upon, when refining and adapt our total service offering to a specific industry segment using customized services and service products.
